Modesto A's Hometown Collection cap. The Modesto A's were members of the California League from 1975-2004. The A's won three league titles, in 1982, 1984, and 2002. After 30 consecutive years as an Oakland farm club, the A's housed at John Thurman Field, became a Colorado Rockies affiliate in 2005 and changed their name to the Modesto Nuts. Notable alumni include Rickey Henderson, Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire
